Presenter: Kathleen Odean
Nationally known for her lively, timely, and informative presentations on new young adult books, 2010 is Kathleen Odean’s 10th year of presenting seminars that consistently receive excellent evaluations from participants. Kathleen has been a youth librarian since 1982 and served as chairperson of the Newbery Award Committee. Teachers, librarians, and parents have come to rely on her published guides including Great Books for Girls (Ballantine) about which she appeared on NBC’s Today Show with Katie Couric, Great Books for Boys (Ballantine), and Great Books about Things Kids Love (Ballantine). An influential critic, Kathleen has been reviewing books for young people in a variety of national publications since the early 1980’s.
